Why a countdown feels different from a calendar
A calendar tells you when. A countdown tells you how much time is left, which is the number you actually plan with: whether there are enough weekends to finish the seating chart, how many paydays before the flight, how many sleeps a six-year-old has to survive until their birthday.
DayTrackr counts calendar days, the way people talk about them: tomorrow is one day away, whatever the time is now. If you add a time, you also get a live hours-minutes-seconds clock that reaches zero at that exact moment in your own time zone.
Counting up is a countdown in reverse
Switch any tracker to “days since” and it becomes a day counter: days sober, days since you quit smoking, your relationship in days, a new baby’s age. The sobriety calculator and streak tracker add milestones and a reset button that remembers your best run.
Questions people ask
Is DayTrackr really free with no sign-up?
Yes. There is no account and nothing to install. Countdowns are saved in your browser’s local storage on this device.
Where are my countdowns stored?
Only in this browser (localStorage). They are not uploaded anywhere. Clearing your browser data, or pressing “Clear all data” on the privacy page, deletes them.
Can I see my countdowns on another phone?
Use “Share link”. The link carries the title and date, so opening it on any device shows the same live countdown, and you can save it there too.
Can I count up from a date instead of down?
Yes. Switch the direction to “Days since” for anniversaries of a quit date, sobriety, a new job or a baby’s age in days.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, the countdowns run entirely in your browser, so they keep ticking without a connection.
